Many employers are not prepared to handle layoffs effectively and support their impacted employees' job search needs. We will identify the resources that are no cost to provide early intervention assistance to help avert potential layoffs and immediate onsite services to assist workers facing job loss. Services can be tailored to each employer based on the needs of the employees. Pat Richards is a Business Liaison with the NOVA Job Center that works closely with businesses to ensure that our programs provide opportunities that build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to address the workforce needs of Silicon Valley. She is a frequent presenter at professional workforce conferences and webinars. Her background includes managing career centers with IBM, Sun Microsystems and TRW. NOVA partners with 12 northern California Workforce Development Boards to form the Bay Area Workforce Development System.
